Come and help us celebrate 50 years of Moffat Mountain Rescue Team at our Dinner Dance to be held in Moffat Town Hall. Witness some of the teams' history, hear from a great after dinner speaker, enjoy great food and then dance the night away to a local Ceilidh band.
Moffat Mountain Rescue Team was formed 50 years ago in Moffat by Dr Hugh Sinclair and others. It has been coming to the aid of walkers and those in need ever since. With a purpose built base in Moffat, three vehicles and 30 team members the team strongly supports the local community in Moffat
For this event we would like to invite team members, their family, friends, local communities, ex team members, neighboring teams and members of the other emergency services to join us in what will be a great night.
The town hall can take 120 guests and you would be welcome to form a table of friends. After a three course dinner has been served we will hear from Mick Tighe (Ex Royal Marine, Mountain Guide, Ex Lochaber Mountain Rescue team) Mick has been involved in training the team both in the region and on the slopes of Ben Nevis, Anoch Mor and beyond. He has a wealth of mountaineering and mountain rescue experience and a few stories to go with it.
Following this we will dance the night away to a great local band headed up by Grant Dinwoodie who has headlined with his band at the Big Burns Supper and is well renowned in the region. The music will be ceilidh based and there are plenty of Scottish country dancers to keep everyone right with the steps.
