Walk 4 The Annandale Way (All 55 Miles)!

Starts on the Saturday and takes in the whole 55 mile Annandale Way. This will be a strenuous event for which your should be fully prepared for all weathers, be carrying equipment to look after yourself in a hill and rural environment, be carrying a map and compass and know how to use them.

There will be two starting times dependent on how you would like to take on the challenge. You can walk starting early on Saturday 7 June splitting the walk overnight near St Ann's Bridge or you can take on the full Annandale Way in one push starting a later on the Saturday morning.

The Walk: Meeting at Annanwater Hall at 0600 the team will transport you to the start of the walk at Newbiebarns near Annan. From here you will start your journey along the Annandale Way. The full details of the route are in the Annandale Way Website which can help you plan your route. As you journey North you can select which version of the walk you choose where the walk splits near Hoddam. The team will provide you with a tracker which will mean that friends and family can watch your progress through the event and the mountain rescue team can ensure we know you are safe!

As the day draws long you will arrive in the area of St Ann's Bridge where you have an overnight choice. We will provide a campsite area for you to relax overnight and will even have transported your camping equipment to the venue (we cannot promise to erect your tent!). Alternatively you can hand in your tracker and go home overnight returning early the next morning to complete your challenge finishing at the Annanwater Hall. Again you can choose which way round you complete the Moffat Hill loop but we would recommend walking clockwise joining the Sunday walkers on Walk 2 and 3.

The Elite Version

If you would like to take on the ultimate challenge we will support you in your quest! Meeting at the Annanwater Hall at 1000 on Saturday 7 June we will transport you to the start at Newbiebarns for a late morning start. We will provide you with a tracker before setting you on your way. We will provide drinks stations but the expectation is that you will be able to support yourself and navigate the Annandale Way on your own. You can choose which of the two loops to take according to which you believe might be the fastest route.

You will keep travelling North and are encouraged to take the clockwise route around the Beeftub loop before finishing at the Annanwater Hall.

Prizes will be on offer for the fastest male and female competitor in this unique supported challenge.

Full details of the Annandale Way are on the Annandale Way Website to help you plan your route.

There will be an expectation that you will meet the minimum kit list and be able to support yourself through the challenge. However if you need to take a rest or drop out the team will not be far away to come to your aid.

Walk 4 Entry Fees

Entry £60.00 per person or £50.00 Early Bird if you sign up early
Group Entry (4 Adults) £200.00 or £150.00 Early Bird

We would also be grateful for any sponsorship you may be able to raise, we now have a Just Giving link to allow you to setup an online giving page for the 2019 Anniversary Challenge or we can provide sponsorship forms.
